The Must Needs for Every Beach Wedding

Beach weddings can be picturesque with the ocean in the background. Whether it’s a destination wedding or a local beach, there’s a tropical flair to a beach wedding. Laid back and upscale. But they can challenge, between the sand and outdoors. Instead of worrying about sand in your shoes, we’re gonna break down the musts for every beach wedding — whether you are the bride, in the bridal party, or a guest.

Find the Right Shoes

Trying to walk in heels is a no-go when it comes to sand. As it is, walking in sand is a workout sometimes. Opt for fancy flats and sandals, or even go barefoot if that is the vibe of the wedding. Find bejeweled but flat footwear. If you want a heel, look for a block heel or wedge heel, since a thin heel will sink into the sand. For men, you can go with dress shoes, loafers, or boat shoes. They’re all timeless options for men, and the last two are perfect for a beach wedding.

Keep Mother Nature in Mind

When it comes to outdoor weddings, we have to take nature into account, for the good and bad. Of course, we get the possibility of a sunny beautiful day, but we also have to deal with the possibility of sunburn, wind, and unfortunately rain. Let’s hope there’s no rain, but if you’re worried, try to find a clear umbrella to protect from the rain while also not drawing attention. As for the sun, make sure to sunscreen. Nowadays, incorporating makeup into makeup is easy. If you’re looking for an extra glow, try out Sol de Janeiro’s new sunscreens, Coppertone’s Glow, or Supergoop!’s Glow Screen. Finally, for women trying to salvage their hair from the wind, think of adding hairspray (but make sure to not overdo it), extra bobby pins, and decorative clips that secure your hair and keep it in place. Of course, this advice is great for the bride too! Make sure your veil is secure for the big day.

Find the Right Outfit

We’re sure the bride has already thought about the perfect dress if they want a beach wedding. Now, for all the guests, make sure you’re opting for lightweight and breathable fabrics. Think of linen, cotton, other plant-based fabrics like bamboo, rayon, and merino wool. Look for light or neutral colors that won’t absorb the sun. For women, opt for flowy dresses: slip dresses, midis, maxis, and wrap dresses. Don’t be afraid of floral prints. For women who don’t care for dresses and men, opt for linen or khaki pants. Depending on the kind of wedding, don’t be afraid to get a seersucker suit. Seersucker is great for the heat and adds a bit of color.
