College to Career Webinar

On September 27th, StyldLife joined the University of California San Diego (UCSD) and StyldLife stylist Sara Ashary for our College to Career Webinar!

The hour-long webinar featured the CEO and founder of StyldLife, Julie Floyd, stylist Sara Ashary, and around 170 UCSD students. In a session exclusively designed for UCSD and its students, students were taught by Sara Ashary how to dress for different jobs and interviews in preparation for UCSD’s Fall 2023 Networking and Career Fairs.

Sara Ashary is a fashion stylist and designer who has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry. She has styled celebrities for magazines and fashion editorials, and also worked as a creative director for Grazia Magazine. Sara understands what men in tech and finance want regarding their wardrobe. She is the perfect person to help them revamp their style and find something that speaks to them. Her keen eye for fashion and her knowledge of current trends as a past merchandiser make her the ideal candidate to help all people in the workplace find the perfect balance between looking refined and never over the top. With a vast experience of styling men and women in Silicon Valley, Sara was the perfect stylist to guide UCSD’s students as they began thinking about entering the workforce after college. Sara covered the following five topics in detail:

  1. The Importance of Dressing Well

  2. Professional Dress Codes

  3. Dressing for Career Fairs and Networking

  4. Common Mistakes

  5. Dressing on a Budget

Each webinar has a built-in Q&A session, so there was time to answer all the students’ questions– from preferred hair, makeup, and nail styles for interviews and workplace environments to what the appropriate dress code would be for specific fields, Sara answered it all!

Since this was an experience tailored to UCSD students, Sara spoke to great lengths on what to wear to career fairs and the importance of it, as well as Gen Z-specific styling advice and tips tailored to the college students in attendance. Included in the experience was an edited Zoom video of the webinar for UCSD to share with their students and a special discount code for students to use when booking with Sara Ashary.
